Walnut Brewery in Boulder tapped a new batch of its Firehouse Ale recently, with a portion of sale proceeds over several weeks going to the Children’s Hospital Burn Camp Programs. Helping out were, from left, John Drake, Brad Jackson and Ross Shell, chief executive of Red Idea Consulting and Venture Works. Red Idea helped promote the event kickoff.

Paula Hutts, with scissors, owner of Aspen Designers Choice, cuts the ribbon at a ceremony welcoming the company to the Lafayette business community. Members of Hutts’ staff and board members of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce help celebrate the new business that offers custom-made window treatments and bedding and custom handbags located at 1724 Majestic Drive, No. 107 in Lafayette.

Democratic Rep. Betsy Markey, representing Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, stopped in for a tour of Premier Manufacturing’s renovated facility in Longmont on Feb 27 during the company’s open house. Premier owner Edmond Johnson introduced Markey to employees and visitors. Markey commended Johnson for investing in his company during tough economic times.
