BOULDER - Bonnier Corp. is selling Ski and Skiing magazines and its other Mountain Group holdings in Boulder to Active Interest Media Inc.

Financial details were not disclosed. The deal is scheduled to close at the end of May, Dave Freygang, Bonnier Corp.'s chief executive, said in an email.

Warren Miller Entertainment, a ski-film company, Skiing Business magazine and Nastar, a ski- and snowboard-racing program, also are part of Bonnier Corp.'s Boulder holdings. Bonnier publishes other magazines such as Field & Stream and Popular Mechanics. Bonnier's parent company Bonnier Group is based in Stockholm.

The sale allows Bonnier to shift its focus to its business in California, New York and Winter Park, Florida, where the company is based, Freygang said in the statement.

Bonnier bought Ski and Skiing magazines from Time Inc. in 2007 as part of a $225 million purchase of 18 magazines.

Active Interest Media's magazines include Backpacker and Climbing, among others. Company representatives were not immediately available for comment.

The company's Outdoor Group in Boulder publishes consumer and trade publications that reach 3 million readers monthly in the trail, climbing, fitness and ski industries, according to a company website. Active Interest Media is based in El Segundo, California.
