BOULDER - To capitalize on what they believe is a neglected stock-photography market, Jim Keppel and Jeremy Kay have started HotShoo LLC.

Boulder-based HotShoo, currently in private beta but expected to launch June 4, is a stock-photography company focused on architects and designers.

The company, similar to well-known iStockphoto LP, uses contributed photographs to compile a library of images of buildings, architecture and other design aspects that are made available via its website, www.hotshoo.com.

Photos cost between $13 and $20 based on whether the buyer is a subscriber and to what level he subscribes.

Photographers who are approved to contribute receive a 30 percent royalty on each of their photos sold, said Jeff Herman, the company's chief executive officer.

HotShoo has three full-time employees, a handful of contracted workers and is looking for more photo contributors before publicly launching next month.
