Partnership installing solar PV system
By Business Report Staff
June 3, 2010 -- BOULDER - A solar photovoltaic system is being installed on the building occupied by Photo Craft Imaging and the GrafXGroup at the corner of Pearl and 55th streets in Boulder.
The 46-kilowatt system and energy controllers are expected to reduce the printing company's carbon footprint by about 65 percent.
The installation is a partnership between Photo Craft, building-owner DellaCava-Day Co. LLC in Boulder, Vibrant Solar Inc. of Denver and Colorado Kvar in Lone Tree. The project is receiving funding through Boulder County's ClimateSmart loan program.
Building owner Lou DellaCava said Vibrant has installed systems on other buildings his company owns including First National Bank of Boulder and the Louisville Library. "It is a good partnership that benefits everyone," he said in a statement.
The system is expected to reduce Photo Craft's carbon dioxide emissions by 122 tons per year; as well as emissions from nitrogen oxide by 566 pounds and sulphur dioxide by 723 pounds per year.
