BOULDER - Boulder will have a new Rapid Refill inkjet and laser toner cartridge store sometime next week, according to the store's general manager, Don Ireland.

The franchise, owned by Jay Johnson, will be Colorado's fifth. It will be located in The Village Shopping Center, 2525 Arapahoe Ave., Suite C4. The phone number is 303-443-4651.

The Chanhassen, Minn.-based company recycles ink, toner and cartridges. Buying remanufactured cartridges from Rapid Refill saves consumers money, said Ireland, compared to purchasing new OEM (original equipment manufacturer) cartridges.

"It's a good time with the current economy for consumers and businesses to look at our products because they cost less," Ireland said.

Johnson and Ireland previously worked for about 10 years each with CompUSA in Denver. Johnson was the regional manager, and Ireland was the regional administrator. Both will be the new store's only employees until it grows.

Rapid Refill will have a ribbon cutting with the Boulder Chamber of Commerce at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6. Its hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
