BOULDER - Spencer Villwock, deputy director of the Center for Resource Conservation in Boulder, has been named president of the Boulder Green Building Guild's board of directors.
The 550-plus member nonprofit organization focuses on advancing the craft of sustainable building in Boulder County.
In the annual election of board members, three of five open seats were refilled by existing board members: Stu Galvis of Keller Williams, Aaron Nelson of Alliance for Sustainable Colorado and Clay Dusel of Dusel Custom Builders.
Two new board members elected were Sandra Weeks of Blue Spruce Design and Construction and Gwénaël Hagan of Solar Glass Window and Door. Thirteen applicants ran for the open board positions spanning a variety of concentrations within the green building industry.
Galvis and Hagan will serve on the executive committee as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
"The new and existing board members fairly represent the guild membership, which is what we strive to do as the professional green building association in Boulder," said Julie Herman, executive director of the guild. "The fact that three members were re-elected is indicative of how close-knit and cohesive our members and board are with each other."
