BOULDER - Unemployment rates in both Boulder and Broomfield counties inched up slightly in June, according to the latest workforce report released Friday by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

Boulder County's non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June was 6.6 percent, up from 6.1 percent in May. It was the same as the 6.6 percent rate reported in June 2011.

In Broomfield, the unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in June, up from 7.5 percent in May. In June 2011, the rate was 7.7 percent.

According to the survey of Colorado households, the state unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percent in June to 8.2 percent. The national unemployment rate was unchanged from the previous month at 8.2 percent.

The state unemployment rate is down 0.2 percentage points from the 8.4 percent recorded in June 2011. The national unemployment rate declined 0.9 percentage points, from 9.1 percent in June 2011to 8.2 percent in June 2012, according to the CDLE.
