DENVER - Economist Richard Wobbekind of the University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business will offer an economic forecast on Monday, Dec. 3, at the school's 48th annual Colorado Business Economic Forum.

Wobbekind is executive director of Leeds' Business Research Division and senior associate dean for academic programs at CU-Boulder. He also produces the quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index for Colorado, serves as president of the National Association for Business Economics, and is a member of the Governor's Revenue Estimating Advisory Committee, the Denver Regional Council of Governments' Forecast 2035 Advisory Committee, the Colorado Tourism Office Education and Research Committee, the Boulder Urban Renewal Authority and the Boulder Economic Council.

Michael Long, chairman, president and chief executive of Englewood-based Arrow Electronics Inc., will deliver the keynote address at the forum, which is to begin at 1 p.m. at the Denver Marriott City Center, 1701 California St.

Concurrent sessions beginning at 3 p.m. will tackle harnessing minerals and energy, economic uncertainty in the area's real-estate market and small-business financing in the 2013 economy. A networking reception will follow.

Compiled by the Leeds School's Business Research Division, the state economic outlook for 2013 will feature forecasts and trends for 13 business sectors prepared by more than 80 key business, government and industry professionals. Economic snapshots from specific counties and regions around the state, as well as updates on international trade, population, labor force, personal income growth and the national economy are included in the outlook.
