Building begins on Interlocken apartments
Camden USA Inc., a Houston-based developer and operator of multifamily communities, is building the development on an 18.9-acre site at 120 Edgeview Drive. The property is near the eastern border of Interlocken, near the junction of U.S. Highway 36 and Wadsworth Parkway.
The community, to be named Camden Flatirons, will have units spread between five four-story buildings. Permits for the project were issued in November, and crews have begun working on the property. Camden Development Inc. is the primary contractor.
Camden's parent company is the Camden Property Trust, a publicly traded real estate investment trust (NYSE: CPT). The Camden Flatirons will be the company's second community in Interlocken. The other is the Camden Interlocken, a 340-unit development at 705 Eldorado Blvd.
Broomfield records estimate the value of the construction of the new development to be $46 million.
