Boulder Travel sells its business division
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Both Polk, based in Glendale, and Boulder Travel, based in Boulder, are branches of New York-based Tzell Travel Group. Tzell is a unit of Minneapolis-based Travel Leaders Group.
The family of Brian Menk, president of Boulder Travel, founded the company in 1947.
Boulder Travel's office will remain open at 1655 Folsom St. in Boulder, where its leisure vacation-travel staff will remain Boulder Travel employees and will focus on honeymoons, cruises, tours, luxury and individual travel services, said Robert Polk, chief executive of Polk Corporate Travel Management. "They do a lot of everything in the area of leisure travel, and they're very good at it."
Boulder Travel's employees that handled business-travel customers have become employees of Polk Corporate Travel Management, Polk said, but will continue to provide those services from the Boulder office.
