Nonprofit seeks funds for shelter renovation
The Adopt-a-Room sponsorship program is asking for financial support to put the finishing touches on the $600,000 renovation/expansion of the Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter.
The renovation to the shelter will be complete in early March. Individuals, corporations, faith communities and service groups are encouraged to financially support the finishing touches that are needed to reopen the only shelter.
Commitments for cash sponsorships are requested by Feb. 28. Attention Homes will order all needed furnishings. Sponsors will receive naming rights in the shelter, public recognition at a grand reopening celebration in April and a listing in all printed and digital messaging.
Adopt-a-Room sponsorship opportunities range in price from $500 to $15,000 and will help furnish the Drop-In Center, which serves up to 40 homeless youth each day and the Overnight Shelter with housing capacity for 16 youths.
"We are thrilled by the prospect of completing the addition to our shelter so we may serve more of our community's most vulnerable youth," said Allison Disbrow, development director of Attention Homes. "By helping these teens and young adults stabilize at Attention Homes, we are giving them a fighting chance of returning home or becoming self-sufficient. Room sponsors will help make our new house into a home for the more than 500 youth we serve each year with day drop-in and overnight shelter services."
