Locally made gelato to be sold nationally
Boulder Homemade Inc., whose trade name is Boulder Ice Cream, will debut its Figo! Organic Gelato at the Natural Products Expo West, a natural, organic and healthy-products industry trade show, held March 7-11 in Anaheim, California.
Then it will begin distribution in natural foods stores and supermarkets in the Rocky Mountain region, as well as nationally.
The gelato comes in seven flavors, using recipes created under the guidance of a master Italian gelato maker.
Figo!, which means "cool" in Italian, is slow-batch churned by Italian-crafted machinery. The 10-gallon Italian-made machines use a proprietary slow-churn process to create an ideal mixture of low air and butter fat, which creates a smooth, creamy and rich texture while creating less than one-tenth of a percent of product waste, and a lower fat, premium product.
Figo! is non-GMO, certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and gluten and egg free.
