DENVER - Spirit Airlines Inc., which made its Colorado debut in May, will add daily nonstop service between Denver and Houston beginning June 13.

The same plane will continue to, and originate from, Orlando, Florida.

"We are very excited that Spirit Airlines is continuing to grow its service at Denver International Airport with its newest direct flights to Houston," said Kim Day, manager of aviation for Miramar, Florida-based Spirit (Nasdaq: SAVE), in a press statement. "This service will increase the number of options available to travelers and enhance Denver International Airport's position as one of the strongest for domestic air service."

A daily flight will leave DIA at 9 a.m. and arrive at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) at 12:19 p.m. Central time. The return flight will leave Houston at 5:45 p.m. Central time and arrive in Denver at 7:08 p.m.

Spirit started service at DIA in May and offers daily nonstop service to Detroit, O'Hare International Airport in Chicago and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Spirit offers low base fares, but charges extra fees for "a range of optional services" including checked and carry-on bags, reserved seats, snacks and drinks.

Spirit's all-Airbus fleet operates more than 200 daily flights to more than 50 destinations within the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
