U.K. data firm opening U.S. HQ in Boulder
Beyond Analysis develops "productive analytics" tools for financial service companies and retailers, said Hunter Albright, Beyond Analysis' chief executive for North America and the global head of consulting. Currently, Albright is the only employee in Boulder, but the company plans to expand quickly. Its office is at 3005 Center Green Drive, Suite 115.
Beyond Analysis' major client is Visa Europe, but its goal is to develop tools much smaller companies can use to extract meaningful information from the huge amount of transaction records consumers generate.
"They haven't had the capital to invest either in the technology or the human resources they require," Albright said. By offering a more accessibly priced product, Beyond Analysis is attempting to become "almost a Salesforce.com for analytics."
Beyond Analysis has been setting up the groundwork for a U.S. unit for about a year, Albright said.
"The U.S. was a natural expansion for us, both to expand on our relationship with Visa and in terms of our growth plan," Albright said.
The company has a single U.S. client, Denver-based Rainbow Rewards, which develops "cash back" rewards programs for businesses.
Having its U.S. headquarters in Boulder gives Beyond Analysis access to potential partners in the "big data" industry, knowledgeable investors and a convenient location between both coasts, Albright said.
Beyond Analysis has about 90 employees worldwide, Albright said. It was started in 2006.
