Level 3 has key role in launch of VEVO TV
VEVO TV is a new, always-on, TV broadcast-style music video channel that delivers 24-hour programming, according to a release from Level 3. Its lineup will feature videos from VEVO's extensive catalog of premium music videos.
Level 3 (NYSE: LVLT), which is based in Broomfield, will provide the content delivery network that will be used to stream media to computers, mobile devices, televisions and gaming platforms, according to the release.
VEVO has developed its own platform to broadcast on the Web and mobile devices, but it might be best known through its partnerships with YouTube and Facebook, which use VEVO to show videos from some of the world's most popular bands. The platform airs videos from artist on the Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and EMI labels, with the first two having ownership stakes in the company.
The new platform also will show live concerts, artist interviews and original programming, according to the release.
VEVO TV launched March 12 and is available online at www.vevo.com/tv and via free apps for the largest mobile platforms.
