Pike Research rebranded as Navigant
Pike Research, founded by Clint Wheelock in 2009, was acquired in July by Chicago-based Navigant Consulting Inc. (NYSE: NCI) for an undisclosed amount July 1.
The team of analysts in Boulder has expanded its research focus on other aspects of the energy industry, working together with more than 300 new consulting colleagues in
Navigant's global energy practice," Wheelock wrote in a letter to clients and colleagues.
Wheelock, who was president of Pike Research, is now managing director of the office in Boulder.
Pike Research publishes more than 100 reports a year, which are commissioned, purchased individually or provided on a subscription basis. Its focus is on developing clean-tech technologies and market opportunities.
Navigant is a more traditional consulting firm, providing analysis about strategy, operations and planning. According to a release from Navigant, its energy practice provides services to utilities, independent power producers, financial entities, and equipment providers, among others.
Navigant already has a presence in Boulder, having acquired Boulder-based Summit Blue Consulting in January 2010.
