New name, wider role for Broomfield EDC
The nonprofit organization's role in Broomfield has changed significantly over the past three years, as the city government - once the BEDC's primary financial supporter - created its own economic development department and cut funding to the organization.
On Feb. 21, the organization's board of directors approved a plan to pursue a regional strategy. The new organization also would be focused on representing its corporate investors.
Mike Kosdrosky, the organization's executive director since January, told the Business Report in February that the organization likely would leave Broomfield for what Kosdrosky called "a neutral location."
In an email to board members sent Thursday, Kosdrosky said the organization's executive committee and transition team will report on the progress made to expand to a regional economic development group at its next meeting April 18.
Kosdrosky did not immediately return a phone call requesting comment.
