LONGMONT - The Longmont Museum received a $50,000 grant from the Boettcher Foundation in support of the museum's capital campaign to add an auditorium, education and event spaces at 400 Quail Road.

The grant, combined with other recent gifts, puts the museum at $3,698,560 in funds raised or pledged, which is 88 percent of its $4.2 million goal.

"The Longmont Museum and Cultural Center is a key cultural resource in Boulder County, serving the community through wonderful exhibitions and educational programs," said Timothy Schultz, president and executive director of the foundation. "The Boettcher Foundation's contribution to the museum expansion, which will include an auditorium and education space, helps to ensure the success of this important project."

Last month the museum received a $75,000 grant from the Gates Family Foundation and a $5,500 grant from the Longmont Community Foundation earmarked for the capital campaign.

The Boettcher Foundation was created in 1938 by Claude and Charles Boettcher to benefit the people of Colorado. Today the foundation provides scholarships to Colorado high school seniors and builds community infrastructure through capital grants to nonprofits.
