Solera National Bank is a subsidiary of the holding company Solera National Bancorp Inc. (OTCQB: SLRK) in Lakewood. The bank opened the Residential Mortgage of Colorado loan production office in Boulder in December. Four mortgage loan officers work there.
"Boulder is a pretty vibrant market, and we'd like to be a bigger part of it," said Doug Crichfield, president and chief executive of Solera National Bank. "It's just a natural expansion of our loan production office."
The Solera branch in Boulder will focus on small-business lending as well as mortgage loans, Crichfield said. The parent bank opened in September in 2007 and is a primarily Front Range community commercial bank, Crichfield said.
Solera National Bank reported $169 million in assets in March 2013 and $181,000 in net income for the quarter, according to reports filed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. The bank's niche is to work with minority-owned and women-owned businesses, as well as with the general population, Crichfield said.
