Lucie Zikova, a finance specialist at Quish & Co. LLC, a wealth-management firm in Boulder, has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
The Boulder Chamber hired Brent Hultman to lead business development efforts to support the chamber's Innovation Blueprint 3.0. The blueprint calls for a conference center, mentoring and training programs and capital investment programs. Hultman takes over from Scott Ziemba, the previous director of investor relations at the chamber. Hultman previously worked from Taggart & Associates Inc., doing business as Taggart Insurance in Boulder, where he was a sales producer on the commercial broker team for the last six years. He previously owned an independent insurance agency in the Louisville/Superior area.
The University of Colorado-Boulder named Jeffrey Luftig as associate vice chancellor for process innovation to head university's new Office for Performance Improvement. The office will provide tools, methods and resources to units across the campus to develop process innovations to improve job performance.
The town of Erie hired Kim Stewart as operations commander for the Erie Police Department. Stewart has more than two decades of experience as a police officer, detective, patrol supervisor and commander with the Boulder Police Department. She is currently the investigations commander and oversees all major investigations in the city of Boulder. Prior to becoming a police officer she was commissioned as a captain in the United States Army. A swearing in ceremony will be Aug. 21 at Erie Town Hall, and she begins the job Aug. 30. Lt. Lee Mathis of the Erie Police Department will be sworn in as support commander.
Boulder-based Special Aerospace Services LLC named Fred Ouellette as program manager for human spaceflight and energy services. SAS supports NASA, the Department of Defense, and the commercial space industry through systems engineering, digital manufacturing, research and development, launch services, and mission analysis. Ouellette will support the company's commercial crew and energy activities in the Houston area. Ouellette joins SAS from Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where he spent the past 24 years working for NASA in the Engineering Directorate, Space Shuttle Program Orbiter Project Office, Commercial Crew Program and the Multi Purpose Crew Vehicle Program Office.
Broomfield resident Greg Blanchard has been named a member of the 2013 President's Council of New York Life. Members of the President's Council are among the top 8 percent of New York Life's sales force of 12,250 licensed agents. Blanchard has been a New York Life agent since 1986 and is associated with New York Life's Colorado General Office in Arvada. Blanchard is a co-founder of the Broomfield Community Foundation, recipient of the Broomfield Community Foundation's Angel award, a past board member of the Broomfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Avista Hospital Foundation, the Broncos Quarterback Club.
Attorneys Matt McKinney and Dan Fredrickson have joined Denver-based Kendall Koenig & Oelsner and will work in the law firm's office in Boulder. McKinney represents software and Internet companies and advises on licensing, commercial, SaaS and intellectual property agreements. Prior to joining KKO, McKinney founded Stack McKinney Law Group in Boulder. Fredrickson will represent companies in commercial transactions, including those related to software licensing and subscriptions, product distribution and resale, technology transfers and development, consulting services, partnering and joint ventures, and intellectual property. Frederickson previously was general counsel at Boulder-based Tendril Networks Inc.
Broomfield-based Famous Brands International, the parent company of TCBY Yogurt and Mrs. Fields Cookies, appointed Michael Chao as chief financial officer. He has been serving as vice president of finance, treasury and investor relations at Broomfield-based Vail Resorts Inc. Famous Brands also reappointed David Barr to its board of directors. Barr is the chairman of Rita Restaurants LLC, owner and operator of Don Pablo's Mexican Restaurants and The Jewellery Group, retail jewelry stores in Australia. He serves on the boards of Del Frisco Restaurant Group, the Bistro Group and Charles & Colvard.
Kim Griffis joined Realities for Children Boulder County as its director of member services. Griffis has more than 20 years of business and nonprofit experience. Realities for Children is an alliance of business members and nonprofit affiliate agencies serving the needs of abused, neglected and at-risk youth.
Boulder-based Zeal Optics, designers and makers of high-tech sunglasses and goggles, hired Mike Lewis as its digital marketing manager. Lewis will manage global digital strategy for the brand, which is sold in more than 25 countries. Lewis served as the editor in chief of Transworld Business for five years and has more than 14 years of experience in the industry. Lewis received his master's degree in marketing and environmental management from University of Colorado-Boulder. Prior to his work with Transworld Business, Lewis worked as a freelance writer in business and actions sports and in several skate and snow shops.
The Longmont Express Employment Professionals office named Matthew Romanini as business development specialist. Romanini will be responsible for acquiring new business. Before joining Express, Romanini worked as the assistant sales manager then branch manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Linthicum, Maryland. He was responsible for high volume account management as well as hiring, training and coaching sales agents. He is a graduate of Towson University.
