Bhakti Chai raises capital to fuel growth

The Boulder-based company raised the money from angel investors and through the online crowdfunding platform CircleUp Network Inc., which is based in San Francisco. Bhakti Chai makes tea concentrate, ready-to-drink bottles of chai tea and Bhakti Chai Chip ice cream.
"Investors were not only impressed with our traction and our trajectory, but with our social mission, which continues to illustrate that businesses can do the right thing for social and environmental issues while being successful," Brook Eddy, founder and chief executive of the company, said in the press statement.
The company started in 2006. Products are available at Whole Foods Markets, at natural grocery stores and at a variety of cafes around the United States.
