The office at 1035 Pearl St. has 10 employees, including a registered nurse, said Jaclyn Krucik, a corporate spokeswoman. The Todds expect to hire from 40 to 50 employee caregivers in the next six months to work with new clients, she said.
Nurse Next Door services range from companionship for seniors to round-the-clock nursing care. The Todds also own the Nurse Next Door franchise for the Broomfield area but do not have a bricks-and-mortar office there, Krucik said.
Owners pay $40,000 for franchises and additional startup costs ranging from $78,000 to $124,000, based on information on the company website. The Todds did not disclose financial details of the two local franchises.
The Todds' company Alpha Omega Home Health Care Inc. holds a Class A medical license as a home-care agency from the state of Colorado, Krucik said.
Nurse Next Door started in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2001. The company began franchising its services in 2007 and now has more than 60 locations, most of which are in Canada.
