Boulder-based Renewable Choice has been brokering "green" power since 2001. It helps customers obtain renewable energy credits, carbon offsets and "green" power for projects seeking LEED certification.
Mosaic Labs has been in operation informally within Renewable Choice since 2008. Its original product was greenhouse gas inventories, but it has evolved to provide a full complement of sustainability services. The new firm's mission is to help companies understand and reduce their social and environmental impact.
The two privately held companies will share space and some common operations at 4775 Walnut St., Suite 230, in Boulder, said Amy Haddon, a spokeswoman. Mosaic may add clients and employees in the future as a result of the launch, Haddon said. Mosaic currently has six employees
Mosaic's customers include clothing company Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS), the National Basketball Association, and Allstate Corp. insurance company, as well as Boulder Brands Inc., a natural food company in Niwot (Nasdaq: BDBD) and Door to Door Organics Inc., a grocery delivery company in Louisville, Haddon said.
"We believe that by empowering the company to operate independent of Renewable Choice, we will continue to grow our brand and reputation in the marketplace," said Kris Lotlikar, president of Renewable Choice.
