Three Boulder tech firms to pitch in Denver
Last Updated: 16:40 October 22, 2013
Accuer Inc., Lifestreams Inc. (doing business as Evver), and Kapta Systems Inc. are the local businesses that were picked out of an applicant pool that included about 100 Colorado companies.
The Colorado Capital Conference opens Nov. 6 with a keynote address by Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., at the Denver Post, 101 W. Colfax Ave. in Denver. Funding pitches and a series of presentations on investment-related topics will be made Nov. 7 at the American Mountain Center, 720 10th St. in Golden.
Kapta - which is seeking funding for its cloud-based system that enables companies to communicate goals and track employees' contributions and project status through a real-time dashboard - is pitching at an RVC event for the second time in about 18 months.
"We like to see repeats if they've changed significantly," RVC executive director Peter Adams said.
Rockies Venture Club is a nonprofit organization geared toward connecting investors with promising entrepreneurial companies. It also offers education programs for angel investors and entrepreneurs.
Companies pitching at RVC events since the beginning of last year have raised $25 million from connections and syndications made through RVC, with a quarter of pitching companies receiving funding.
Of the other Boulder companies pitching in November, Accuer is seeking funding for Playbook, a new software-as-a-service application that helps product development teams shorten project schedules by 30 percent to 50 percent. Evver is seeking funding for a free video production and sharing platform that allows users to turn photos into videos synced to music.
Other companies selected to pitch include: Carbo Analytics of Fort Collins; Closely Inc. of Denver; Field Squared of Denver; Fusesport of Colorado Springs; Hydrant-Flush of Westminster; Lenimen of Denver; NightFlyer of Denver; ORBTR of Denver; and OrderStorm of Golden.
