RRC executives buy back consulting firm
Last Updated: 16:51 November 1, 2013
RRC Associates is a consulting firm that provides the tourism and recreation industries with customized data about consumers and tourists so their clients can make decisions about how to market to those groups. STR provides operations statistics to the hospitality industry.
RRC's senior leadership team of Chris Cares, Nate Fristoe, Dave Belin, David Becher and Mike Simone bought the company from STR for an undisclosed amount. Cares co-founded the company in 1983 along with Nolan Rosall and Peter Remmen before selling to STR in 2008.
"This transition represents an exciting time for our firm," Cares, RRC's managing director, said in a press release. "We are pleased to have this opportunity to create a new company and to continue to participate in the growth of our industries. With roots in Boulder, a proven staff and established clients, we look forward to furthering our work with communities and recreation clients throughout North America."
RRC has 16 employees at its Boulder office at 4940 Pearl East Circle. The privately-held company does not disclose revenue figures.
But Belin, the director of consulting services, said the company anticipates growth and the addition of employees going forward. Belin said the company will focus on offering more customized consulting relationships.
"One of the exciting things about spinning off is we have more control over our own destiny," Belin said. "We wanted to sort of refocus on what our strength is."
Officials for STR could not be immediately reached on Friday.
