LONGMONT - With the Cyclhops Bike Cantina slated to open later this month, the operations of Oskar Blues Brewery's spinoff mountain bike company, Reeb Cycles, also get shifted.

Since Reeb's launch in 2011, the bikes have been welded in Denver and then assembled at the Oskar Blues offices at 1800 Pike Road. But the company is in the process of moving the welding operations to a space adjacent to the south Longmont brewery's employee gym. Assembly, meanwhile, will soon be done at Cyclhops' building at 600 Airport Road.

Cyclhops, Oskar Blues' latest restaurant concept, is slated for a grand opening Tuesday, Dec. 31, and will employ about 50 people. The 6,000-square-foot space will double as a 300-seat restaurant and bike shop. The restaurant will specialize in southwestern fare and include a tequila tasting room in addition to offering 20 beers on tap.

The bike shop will serve as a retail location for Reeb where customers can demo, view and purchase the single-speed, belt-driven bikes. Previously, the bikes had been available for sale only online. Redstone Cyclery in Lyons has had and will continue to have demos available, Oskar Blues' spokesman Chad Melis said.

"It's exciting to have a little headquarters for Reeb," Melis said.

Cyclhops is Oskar Blues' third restaurant in Longmont, following Homemade Liquids and Solids, and Chuburger. Cyclhops will open at 10 a.m. Dec. 31, with the grand opening and New Year's Eve party kicking off at 8 p.m.
