BOULDER - SendGrid Inc. is moving its headquarters within Boulder for the second time in about two and a half years to accommodate rapid growth.

The company is planning to move in May from its roughly 6,500-square-foot spot at 929 Pearl St. to a 19,691-square-foot space at 1401 Walnut St.

SendGrid was founded in 2009 and was a graduate of the TechStars startup accelerator that same year. The company provides email delivery infrastructure to help companies with transactional emails, email marketing campaigns and scalable enterprise solutions.

SendGrid, which also has offices in Denver and Anaheim, California, employs about 180 people companywide, with about 30 more openings mostly in Boulder and Denver, director of product marketing Jesse McCabe said.

The company opened a 15,000-square-foot satellite office in downtown Denver in late summer of 2012, and at the time had only about 100 employees. That expansion came just a little more than a year after SendGrid had outgrown its space at 1877 Broadway Ave. in Boulder and moved to Pearl Street at a time when the company employed about 30 people.

The privately held company does not disclose revenue.

W.W. Reynolds brokers Chad Henry and Nate Litsey represented landlord John Reynolds on the lease deal, while Chris Boston of Gibbons-White represented SendGrid.
