Sir Richard's campaign donates condoms
Last Updated: 14:29 February 17, 2014
For every one of its condoms that is purchased, Boulder-based Sir Richard's donates a condom to a developing country to help with family planning and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
In the campaign, which was launched on Valentine's Day, Sir Richard's wants customers and other fans to choose recipients of the latex condom donations. Fans can nominate nonprofit groups they would like to have receive the condoms at www.sirrichards.com/nominate/. Sir Richard's designs the condoms in Boulder. They're manufactured in Malaysia.
Sir Richard's was founded in 2009. The company sells condoms at 11,000 locations nationwide, including at CVS (NYSE: CVS) drug stores, and Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) and Whole Foods Market Inc. (Nasdaq: WFM) grocery stores. The company says it already has donated millions of condoms to domestic and international groups, including the Partners in Health group in Haiti.
