TekDry attracts cash to save wet cellphones

According to a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, the company can raise up to $600,000 in the current funding round. That's an amendment from an original filing in January that stated the company was seeking to raise up to $402,500.
Company officials have declined to talk about the funding round until it is complete.
Founded in September by Adam Cookson and Eric Jones, TekDry has a patent-pending device that can dry out phones or other electronics in 30 minutes, saving data like photos and contacts.
The devices would be located at retail businesses, creating foot traffic for those businesses that they might not otherwise get while also creating central locations for the devices.
