"We're taking everything we've learned over the last 10 years and making it a national model," said Sarah Schupp, founder and chief executive of Boulder-based UniversityParent, which publishes print and online guides in partnership with nearly 200 universities and colleges in 46 states.
"With our new site, we're serving 32 million parents at 2,277 colleges and universities across the United States," Schupp said.
UniversityParent has been researching and building content on the site, which launched March 1, at www.universityparent.com, for almost a year.
UniversityParent's website includes:
Key data on 2,277 universities and colleges and the communities where they are located.
More than 100,000 pages of updated content, including key contacts to areas such as admissions, financial aid and scholarships.
FAQs and campus maps for every university.
A new hotel search tool, which in partnership with Priceline, sorts hotels by their proximity to each campus.
Information for high school students and their parents preparing for college
Local community advertisers to help parents find hotels, restaurants, retailers, college bookstores, apartments, health care and more.
Weekly e-news tips with information for parents and a link to subscribe.
At the start of 2014, University Parent contracted with a national sales company, D2MSS, based in East Rochester, N.Y. The move, Schupp says,id allows her Boulder staff, which includes several parents of college students, to focus on content creation and magazine print and web production.
"Our new site gives us a much larger inventory for online ad placements," Schupp said. "With this expansion, we expect to reach out to many more national advertisers."
