The hospital's reach is now spread across 18 locations in six communities, according to a statement issued Tuesday.
"Boulder Community Health started 92 years ago as a single small hospital, but we've developed into an integrated health system," said David P. Gehant, president and chief executive of Boulder Community Health in a statement. "Our new name says we're still proudly Boulder and still intensively invested in our community, but we are now much more than a hospital."
In addition, the hospital's foundation will change its name to Boulder Community Health Foundation.
BCH last year added 49,911 emergency room and urgent-care visits and 102,471 patient visits at affiliated primary-care clinics, according to the release.
The hospital is the Boulder-Broomfield area's third-largest private-sector employer, with about 2,300 employees, according to BizWest research.
