MWH makes acquisition in Peru
BROOMFIELD - MWH, a global provider of environmental engineering, strategic consulting and construction services based in Broomfield, has acquired a hydrogeological consulting firm in Lima, Peru.
Ground Water International S.A. provides ground-water and related environmental consulting services to mining clients across South America. The transaction builds on MWH's strategy to strengthen its water resources and mining services portfolio and to grow its presence in South America. It will allow the company to increase the depth of its service offerings and expertise across the Americas and in other geographic regions in which MWH operates.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MWH is a private, employee-owned firm with more than 7,000 employees worldwide. The company provides water, wastewater, mining, energy, natural resource, program management, consulting and construction services to industrial, municipal and government, and other private and public sector clients in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, India, Asia and the Pacific Rim.

Innovation center adds Simply Boulder
BOULDER - The Boulder Innovation Center has added Boulder-based Simply Boulder to its natural and organic business program.
The innovation center is a nonprofit group that supports entrepreneurs in the Boulder area by matching business owners with advisers and other community resources to help their company grow.
Simply Boulder produces all-natural culinary sauces.
The natural and organic business program is run by Lisa Bell and Julie Dye, who joined the innovation center in July.
"We are thrilled at the growth and progress of our natural and organic program," said Tim Bour, director of the center, in a statement.
The center charges $750 per month. This fee covers some of operating expenses with the remaining costs covered by the center's sponsors. There is no minimum time commitment for its clients.
The innovation center currently has Bhakti Chai, The Organic Dish, Two Moms in the Raw, NovAurora Skin Care, Altitude Spirits, Hemp I Scream and Simply Boulder as clients in its natural and organic program.

Fresh Produce founder starts fashion line
BOULDER - Mary Ellen Vernon, founder of Boulder-based Fresh Produce Sportswear, has launched a new line of clothing for women.
The ME Collection, a sub-brand of Fresh Produce, consists of 10 original pieces designed by Vernon, including dresses, skirts, top and bottoms using many of the vibrant colors used in Fresh Produces signature line of apparel.
The cornerstone pieces of the new collection are five simple and versatile dresses. They include the Hey Margaret! Sundress with elegant lines, the loosely fitted Divine Sundress, The Mary Ellen Signature Embroidered dress and skirts, plus three simple tops that can be mixed and matched.
The collection is available at www.maryellenclothing.com and Fresh Produce stores in select markets. The Mary Ellen Signature Embroidered Dress is available through Nordstrom's Web site and stores.

American Airlines offers Aircell's Gogo
BROOMFIELD - American Airlines has begun offering its customers in-flight wireless Internet access with service from Illinois-based Aircell LLC, which has operations in Broomfield.
Customers will be able to access Aircell's Gogo wireless Internet service on American's fleet of Boeing 767-200 aircraft flying between New York and San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, and New York and Miami.
American is the second major airline to team up with Aircell and the first to offer the services. Last month, Delta Air Lines said it would add the Gogo service to its entire domestic fleet of 330 aircraft.
Aircell will charge users $9.95 for unlimited Internet access on flights three hours or less, and $12.95 for flights more than three hours. The service will be available in all cabins.
Once the aircraft has reached 10,000 feet, users can access Gogo through their Wi-Fi enabled devices such as laptops, smartphones or PDAs.

DataPlay acquires DaTARIUS
LONGMONT - DPHI Inc., dba DataPlay, has purchased the assets and intellectual property of DaTARIUS Group, an optical media production company.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Longmont-based DataPlay will be forming a new subsidiary in Austria and in the United States to continue to serve DaTARIUS's existing customer base. The new company will combine DaTARIUS's existing expertise in optical test equipment with DataPlay's technologies. DataPlay manufactures miniature, removable optical data-storage systems.
DataPlay and DaTARIUS began working together in 2005 as a cooperative joint venture with the purpose of developing optical drive technology for DaTARIUS's existing and next generation products, including CD, DVD, and Blu-ray formats.
"Working with DaTARIUS GmbH over the last several years has given DataPlay a unique insight into the optical test equipment marketplace," said Bill Almon Jr., president and chief executive of DataPlay, in a statement.
DaTARIUS has offices in Austria, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Lake Forest, Calif.
